The penguin has been a fixture in my life for years. I’ve always been drawn to them—they are stoic, unique, and capable of standing tall no matter how cold the environment gets.
When I launched my first business, J’z Graphic Designz, the penguin was there as a personal symbol of endurance. As my craft evolved, so did he. Today, he is Pixel the Penguin, our "Dandy" mascot. Pixel represents a standard of excellence you won’t find anywhere else. He is a winking reminder that while we take our precision seriously, there is always room for a creative spark and a touch of personality in every project.
The name New Haven isn't just a location; it’s a mission. It represents the "safe harbor" I’ve built for myself after years of staggering loss.
My resolve was forged in 2014 when I lost my mother to ALS on Thanksgiving Day. In the years since, I have navigated a difficult divorce, spinal surgery, and multiple procedures that forced me to rebuild my life from the ground up. I moved to this small town to find my "New Haven"—a place to heal, to create, and to turn years of hardship into a commitment to excellence.
I lost nearly everything, but I never lost the drive to build. This studio is the result of that grit—a testament to the idea that we can always start over and build something better.
